CHEMICAL PEELs

At Skinovate, we specialise in helping you elevate your skincare routine, so you can elevate your confidence. Our chemical peels are medically focused rather than purely beauty, we prioritise effective treatment and results for our patients

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that involves applying a chemical solution to the skin, causing the outer layer to peel off. This process exfoliates the skin, reducing wrinkles, improving texture, treating acne, lightening pigmentation, and stimulating the production of new, healthier skin cells for a smoother and more youthful complexion.

We also offer Bio Repeel, which is an innovative treatment peel that is taking the world by storm! We love this bio peeling treatment for its amazing immediate results, safety, and extremely short downtime.

TYPES OF CHEMICAL PEELS

Our signature medical chemical peels can be superficial, light or deep. Each peel is tailored to your needs and goals:

Superficial peels: These peels only affect the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) and are used for mild skin imperfections. They are often done with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic acid or lactic acid.

Medium peels: These peels penetrate the outer and middle layers of the skin (epidermis and dermis) and are effective for more noticeable imperfections. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is commonly used for medium peels.

Deep peels: These peels reach the deeper layers of the skin and are used for more severe skin issues. Phenol is often used for deep peels. Deep peels usually require more recovery time and carry a higher risk of complications.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CHEMICAL PEELS?

Chemical peels offer various benefits for skin rejuvenation. Firstly, they promote exfoliation by removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, leading to a smoother, brighter complexion. This exfoliation is particularly effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improving overall skin texture.

Chemical skin peels can also address acne and acne scars by unclogging pores, reducing inflammation, and promoting the growth of new, healthier skin. They play a role in minimising hyperpigmentation, such as dark spots and sun damage, by lightening the skin and encouraging the shedding of pigmented cells.

Furthermore, chemical face peels can help minimise the size of enlarged pores, providing a more refined skin appearance. In some cases, certain peels stimulate collagen production, contributing to increased skin firmness and elasticity.
